I have a fascination with shaping light and controlling it to do different things. This is a practice I apply in many of my shoots. The photos you see here are a result of different ways I have manipulated off camera TTL flashes to be a separate entity in my photographs.

On Location at The Jeffery Mansion
On location shooting is some of my favorite stuff to do! Not only do you get to photograph in some really interesting places but it also raises a challenge of working with the available light at your location and mixing it with the studio lights that you brought.
Mixing light is something most people donβt often think about while they are shooting and if you arenβt aware of it, your images can turn out looking nothing like what you planned on. If thereβs a lot of artificial light in your location that you donβt want included in your images at all. then you really have to crank the power on your studio lights to overpower the artificial and vice versa if you want some of the environmental artificial light to be included in your image.

On Location with a Hunter
These photographs are from a series I did on hunting and the steps you take leading up to the kill. I achieved these photos by mixing natural sunlight and off camera flashes that were synced to my camera using wireless flash transceivers. I hope you enjoy!
